Welcome to Undergraduate Education

The Office of Undergraduate Education provides academic support, programs, and courses designed to enhance the undergraduate experience and to increase intellectual engagement between undergraduates and faculty at Rutgers - New Brunswick. Our services and programs include the Byrne Seminars for first-year students, study abroad, the Aresty Research Center for Undergraduates, Educational Opportunity Fund programs, learning centers, disability services, special academic programs, learning communities such as the Discovery Houses, career services, and postgraduate guidance for students applying for nationally competitive fellowships to further their educations here and abroad.

We encourage all students to engage actively with the Rutgers community beyond the classroom at special events that complement their academic coursework. Special events in 2008-2009 include the Writers at Rutgers series in the English department on the College Avenue Campus; Ag Field Day and the New Jersey Folk Festival on the Cook and Douglass Campuses; theatrical and musical performances at Mason Gross School of the Arts and the Livingston Theater Company, and public open nights at the Schommer Astronomical Observatory on the Busch Campus.

This is your research university in the state of New Jersey.
